Concrete Stormwater Drain UV Pipe Relining in Sydney CBD

Project Overview

Project Duration: 1 day

Completely changing the game in how we take care of stormwater drains, the exceptional team at Ready Set Plumb pulled off something incredible. We just finished relining a tricky 8-metre part of a 300mm concrete stormwater drain, right in the middle of Sydney’s bustling CBD.

The project involved using UV pipe relining technology to create a new pipe within the old one. This case study showcases the innovative ways we are able to repair pipes and drains, especially for our commercial clients.

The Objective

A large commercial client approached us with a critical challenge – a leaking 300mm concrete stormwater pipe servicing a prominent hotel and commercial office block. Their goal was to efficiently seal the pipe to prevent further damage and disruption to their operations. With our experience in commercial pipe relining, Ready Set Reline was a dependable choice for a commercial client looking for a pipe relining plumber. They sought a reliable and quick solution that could be executed seamlessly in a single day – which we were able to provide.

The Challenges

Finding solutions demanded creativity. We tackled challenges smartly – scheduling work on a Saturday to reduce business disruptions. We navigated hurdles such as temporarily pausing cooling towers and drainage systems. Redirecting stormwater, coordinating traffic, and securing the work area were all vital to guarantee safety and smooth operations.

Our Strategic Approach

Our approach encompassed our comprehensive pipe relining solutions and project management to complete the project in one day:

Site Visit and Quotation

We didn't rush into things. First, we carefully assessed the site and had a sit-down with the client to provide a spot-on quote that set the stage for the project.

Concrete Pipe Preparation

Our game plan? We started by cutting out a specific chunk of that 300mm concrete pipe. This was the kick-off for the relining process that was to follow.

UV Resin Application

Precision is our middle name. We got down to nitty-gritty measurements and made sure that UV resin-coated reline was prepped and ready to go.

Liner Installation

It's all about getting things snug. We got the 300mm liner in there – flipped and tucked – to make sure those leaks were sealed up tight.

UV Light Curing

We're all for proper bonding. So, we set up a dedicated 300mm UV light system, making sure that the liner got the right dose of light to cure it securely in place.

Quality Check, Always

After all is said and done, we don't leave without making sure things are tip-top. Post-relining, our trusty CCTV camera inspected the pipe, confirming a job well done.
