The Problem
A Carlingford club’s pipework had cracked and deteriorated across multiple sections.
Failing pipes in a licensed venue aren’t just a maintenance issue. They’re a leak risk over a trading floor, a property damage risk, and, if it gets bad enough, a reason to close a kitchen or a bathroom block on a Friday night. The club needed it dealt with before it got to that point.
What they couldn’t do was close. A club’s revenue is concentrated into the days it trades, and a fortnight of excavation across the site would have cost them far more than the pipework ever would.
What we found
We walked the plumbing layout first to work out where the damage was and where the pipes could be accessed from, then put a camera through.
The CCTV run located the cracking precisely, which sections had gone, how far the damage extended, and what could be relined in place. That footage set the scope before anything was quoted, and it’s what made a fixed four-Monday schedule possible to commit to.
How we fixed it
The pipe relining was completed in four consecutive Mondays — the one day a week the club is closed.
1. Site assessment. We inspected the plumbing layout across the site to identify the problem sections and the access points we could work from.
2. CCTV inspection. High-resolution camera footage of the affected runs, mapping the exact location and extent of the damage before any work was quoted.
3. Cleaning and preparation. High-pressure water jetting through the damaged sections to strip out debris and build-up, so the liner had a clean surface to bond to.
4. Liner installation. A resin-coated liner was installed trenchlessly through the damaged sections, then cured in place to form a new pipe inside the old one.
5. Post-installation inspection. A second CCTV run to confirm the liner had cured correctly and flow was clear.
6. Reporting and handover. Before-and-after footage and a written report of the work, handed to the club’s management.
7. Pack-down and restoration. Every Monday finished the same way: all equipment removed and the site restored before the club opened Tuesday morning.
The challenges
The club closes one day a week, and that day was the whole job.
Management asked for all works to be carried out on Mondays. That turned a continuous job into four separate single-day operations, each one needing to be set up, progressed to a clean stopping point, and completely packed down inside the same day. Nothing could be left in place overnight. The site had to be handed back trading-ready every Tuesday.
It also meant no margin. A Monday that ran over didn’t push into Tuesday, it pushed a week.
The four Mondays were planned as a sequence from the start, with each week’s scope set by what the CCTV inspection had already mapped. The club opened on time every Tuesday for four weeks.
The result
The club’s pipework restored, without a single trading day lost.

What it means if you have the same problem
Pubs, clubs, restaurants, gyms and childcare centres all have the same problem with pipework, the repair has to happen inside whatever window the business already has, because creating a new one costs more than the job.
That’s a scheduling question, not a plumbing question, and it’s worth asking before you accept a quote. A trenchless reline can usually be broken into discrete days that each start and finish clean, which means a venue with one quiet day a week can have the work done without ever closing on a trading day. An excavation can’t be broken up that way, once the ground is open it stays open.
