Ready Set Reline are relining specialists servicing Sydney. Our technicians trained on-site at the Brawoliner factory in Germany, and every UV reline is installed to the Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA) using WaterMark-approved materials that meet AS/NZS 3500. You deal directly with the crew doing the work, never a subcontractor.

UV Relining

What is it?

What is UV Pipe Relining?

UV pipe relining is a trenchless, cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) repair that uses ultraviolet light to harden a resin-saturated fibreglass liner inside your existing pipe, forming a new pipe within the old one, without excavation. A pre-impregnated fibreglass or polywoven sock liner is inverted into the damaged section, inflated with compressed air until it presses against the host pipe wall, then cured by drawing a UV light train through it. The resin hardens on demand, in minutes, and the result is a seamless, jointless, watertight pipe with no joins for tree roots to exploit.

Because the resin only activates under ultraviolet light, there’s no risk of it setting early, which means accuracy and precision on complex runs, and no wasted material.

UV vs steam and ambient curing: what’s actually different

All three methods produce a cured-in-place pipe. The difference is how the resin hardens, and it has real consequences for your property. Suitable also for copper and asbestos pipes. We UV reline from 80mm to 400mm in pipe size.

Factor UV curing Steam/hot water curing Ambient curing
Cure speed Minutes — up to ~1.5 m per minute Several hours Many hours to a full day
Downtime Same-day water back on Longer shutdown Longest shutdown
Water used to cure None Large volumes None
Fumes / heat No steam, no excess heat Steam and heat Fumes during cure
Liner Glass-fibre, pre-impregnated Felt + epoxy Felt + epoxy or polyester
Wall thickness Thinner, higher stiffness for its weight Thicker Thicker
Risk to existing PVC Minimal — no heat load Heat can stress PVC Low

What We Fix

When UV Relining is the Right Choice

UV relining is usually the right call when:

You can’t afford the downtime.

Commercial sites, restaurants, strata blocks and any property where a full-day water shutdown isn’t practical.

The pipe runs somewhere you don’t want dug up

Under a driveway, slab, heritage garden, tiled bathroom or mature tree.

You want maximum flow restored

The thinner glass-fibre liner takes less diameter than a felt liner.

There’s a structural fracture, not just a blockage

Cracks (cracked PVC is one of the most common), corrosion, root damage, misalignment or a partial collapse.

Signs your pipe needs relining: recurring blockages, slow-draining sinks and showers, gurgling from the toilet, foul smells around drains, soggy patches in the yard that never dry, cracked paths or small sinkholes, or a Sydney Water notice after an inspection. We’ll confirm suitability with a CCTV inspection before recommending anything and if UV isn’t right for your pipe, we’ll tell you and explain what is.

Step-by-Step

Our UV Pipe Relining Process

1

Free CCTV inspection

A high-definition drain camera locates the exact fault, its depth and its cause. You see the footage yourself, no guesswork, no pressure.

2

Fixed written quote

One clear price, agreed before we start. Got a comparable written quote elsewhere? We’ll beat it by 10%.

3

Clean and prepare

High-pressure jetting clears roots, grease and debris, and robotic cutting removes any hard obstructions so the liner bonds properly.

4

Insert the liner

The pre-impregnated glass-fibre liner is positioned in the damaged section and inflated with compressed air against the host pipe.

5

UV cure

A UV light train is drawn through the liner, hardening the resin in minutes. We check for wrinkles and faults on camera before and during the cure. We utilise SpeedyLight+ from Sewertronics.

6

Final CCTV inspection and handover

You get before-and-after footage, your 50-year warranty certificate, and a pipe you can use straight away.

Ryan is a very professional plumber with great attitude. His team had just installed a brawoliner for us to fix a cracked PVC pipe for the drain at our backyard. My garden remained clean and tiny upon completion.

Danny Chiu

A good experience from start to finish of installation. His equipment was extensive and in very good condition – well set up in purpose-built truck and knows how to finesse the German designed product.

Greg Naimo

Very professional, punctual and friendly. They did a reline of our pipes using Brawoliner from Germany. Gives us peace of mind with the 50 year guarantee.

Robin Mayo

We had five members of the Ready Set Reline Team at our home yesterday for a big job relining cracked clay pipes. They talked me through the cutting edge technology and showed me a video of the finished product. I would highly recommend this team.

Nerida McDonald

Sam conducted investigations and cleared the blocked drain promptly. Sam was knowledgeable and offered solutions for other issues which we will call them back for. Highly recommended.

Georgia Bartley

I used Ready Set Reline to reline just over 40m of sewer pipe. The job was completed exactly as scheduled, cleanup was good, and the guys were great at communicating throughout the process. I highly recommend them.

Where it works well

The Pipes and Problems UV Relining Fixes

We reline sewer, stormwater and drainage pipes made of clay, earthenware, terracotta, PVC, cast iron and concrete, in diameters from 100mm to 300mm, including bends, junctions and boundary traps. UV CIPP lining repairs:

  • Cracks, fractures and structural failure from ground movement
  • Tree root intrusion through joints and damaged sections
  • Corroded, degraded or ageing pipework
  • Leaking joints and separated connections
  • Misaligned pipes and partial collapses
  • Recurring blockages that jetting alone won’t solve permanently

For a single short defect, pipe patch relining may be the more economical fix. For a damaged junction, satellite junction repair is the targeted option. We’ll recommend whichever genuinely suits your pipe.

Service Area

Suburbs we serve across Sydney

Ready Set Reline is based in Roseville and delivers pipe relining services right across Sydney. We work daily through the North Shore, Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Hills District and the CBD.

These are exactly the areas where pipe relining earns its keep. Sydney’s established suburbs are full of pre-war homes on leafy streets, where original earthenware and clay drains sit under mature trees, heritage gardens and paved driveways. Digging is expensive and often restricted, relining from the inside is not.

FAQ

UV Pipe Relining Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the things people ask us most when something’s gone wrong.

UV pipe lining involves inserting a resin-impregnated fibreglass liner into the damaged pipe, inflating it with compressed air so it presses against the pipe wall, then curing it with a UV light train drawn through the liner. The resin hardens in minutes, forming a seamless new pipe inside the old one. A CCTV camera inspects the pipe before and after to confirm the result.
A professionally installed CIPP liner is designed to last 50 years or more. Ready Set Reline backs every UV reline with a 50-year installation warranty and a 100% workmanship guarantee.
UV relining uses ultraviolet light to cure the liner in minutes, where conventional relining uses hot water, steam or ambient air and takes several hours. UV also uses a thinner, stiffer glass-fibre liner, needs no water to cure, produces no steam or fumes, and puts no heat stress on adjoining PVC pipework.
Ready Set Reline UV relines pipes from 100 mm to 300 mm in diameter, including runs with bends, changes in diameter, junctions and boundary traps. A CCTV inspection confirms whether your pipe is suitable before any work begins.
